80th anniversary of the adoption of the Jewish Code
Today we commemorate the sad 80th anniversary of the adoption of the Jewish Code (September 9, 1941). As part of the MaHoLa project, we also want to focus on the restoration of local historical memory, including the fate of the Jewish citizens of Ladiec during the Second World War. The small Jewish community in Ladce was mainly represented by officials in the cement plant, but in the archival documents we also found a merchant, a doctor and two butchers. Ladci did not avoid the Aryanization, few people also remember Hlinka's or Hitler's street. In a short time we will invite you to a lecture on the fate of Jews in Ladce in the context of the racial legislation of the war of the Slovak Republic, which will be one of the professional lectures devoted to the history of the village Ladce and its manor house. The activities of the MaHoLa project are supported by EEA and Norway grants (www.eeagrants.sk).
07.08.2021 - Open day
On Saturday, August 7, 2021, we organized a Doors Open Day in the Ladce manor house, as part of the MaHoLa project. The aim of this exceptional event was to make the manor house and its vicinity accessible to anyone who had an interest to see this long-term inaccessible monument. Our visitors especially appreciated the possibility of a tour of the manor house spaces, which will be reconstructed within the MaHoLa project. The event included a presentation of a project for the restoration of part of the manor house, implemented thanks to EEA and Norway grant, the history of the manor house and historical artifacts related to the manor house and the village of Ladce, which will be presented in the
exposition spaces of the manor house after the reconstruction. We were pleasantly surprised by the participation and interest of all age groups of visitors. 850 people of you came to see the manor house. We look forward to the next meeting.
Visit of representatives of the Norwegian partner of MaHoLa project
On Friday, June 25, 2021, we welcomed a rare visit to Ladce: representatives of the University College of Green Development from Bryne, Norway, which is a Norwegian partner of the MaHoLa project. The first part of the working meeting took place in the premises of the Municipal Office of Ladce, in the presence of the mayor of the village, Mr. Jaroslav Koyš and the director of the Secondary Boarding School in Ladce, Mr. Vladimír Hromek. The subject of the meeting was mainly the specification of activities of the Norwegian partner, which was presented to us by Mr. Rhys Evans and Mr. Johan Barstad and the issue of the transfer of Norwegian know-how to the local environment of the Váh region. The second part of the meeting took place directly in areal as well as interiors of the manor house.
